Music Ministry at My Church
We are blessed at our church in many ways, but many comment to me how remarkable it is that I have nearly thirty musicians on our worship team. Bass players, drummers, piano and keyboard players, horn players and a sax player, singers, guitar players... It's quite amazing, and actually a challenge for me to schedule them all, and provide the musical resources they need.
But a much bigger challenge is being a good shepherd and spiritual leader.
Lately God has been bringing people across my path who want to help carry the--I don't want to say burden, it's not a burden, how about "carry the responsibility?" Tonight a large part of the team is meeting for a campfire and wiener roast, and I hope this sets off a chain of monthly get-togethers that help us all grow spiritually.
I'm so encouraged by this participation! Truthfully, this not my natural gift. I am an organizer and administrator. I'm a creative problem solver, and an innovator. I like one-on-one interactions, but thinking of a whole team of people who need care is overwhelming to me.
I am so thankful that some have stepped forward to help! It's encouraging to me that God is growing His church, and placing the gifts among us that are needed to thrive and grow!
