Been Sick, Getting Better
This post is kind of a ramble and jumble of thoughts.
First off, I've been a little under the weather the last week with a cold.
It's so weird to get a cold in the summer, I'm not used to that! Usually I think of colds as being something that ramps up in the fall as people crowd into the same house in the chilly weather. But it's going around, so it must be really contagious. Both of my daughters are sick, and I heard that my oldest son has been struggling with the sniffles too.
It's been really uncomfortable not working on a recording and music video every week. I've felt a bit like I don't know what to do with myself. I've read a couple of Jack Reacher books, and since I was sick anyway, I've done a lot of sleeping. I guess I needed it.
Today Kevin and I (Kevin is one of the sound guys at our church), did a lot of organizing of cables, adapters, microphones, music stands, and sundry. We hung up a peg board in the storage room, worked our way through what's "junk" and needs disposing, repairing, or recycling, and what's worth keeping. It looks so good now to have mic cables, power chords, HDMI extensions, power adapters and other wires organized in a way that we'll be able to find them quickly.
Since expanding our church auditorium last June, nobody has taken the time to tidy up the technical items. Everything was either tangled in boxes or laying on the floor.
Joanne and I plan on going on a date tonight. We'll likely go to Chuck's Roadhouse for a burger, which sounds boring, but it's my favourite outing lately.
I'm not sure how long I should wait until I ramp up song writing and recording again. I've been kind of thinking I'd release another one for July 17th, but the time has come and gone, so I'll move it ahead a week or two. Slated is "The Father Is In me" from John 14:7-11. We'll see!
Thanks for your friendship and interest in what I do! I appreciate you! Your prayers, encouragement, donations, and love are very important to me.
