What I Did This Week

This week's recording is from John 14, and I think it's the last pre-recorded track I have to work on. Things may slow down quite a bit after this.

The song had about 8 tracks, but the vocal track and the guitar track were combined in one take, so I couldn't easily EQ and tweak the guitar part without effecting the vocals and vice versa.

So I used an AI voice remover website and got a fairly decent guitar part stripped and on its own. I quantized it and added some nice effects, compression, etc, including a chorus bus to virtually double the guitar on the right stereo field.

I added some new pads, quantized the bass part, did noise reduction on everything as needed, sang the melody again, etc etc.

I also decided to remove the piano part, since it was my upright acoustic, and it was a little out of tune when I recorded it. I decided to record a Rhodes piano instead.

I wish I could lay down more guitar parts, but unfortunately it will be a while before that's possible again.
