Brrr, Here Comes Winter
It's getting chillier at night here--what about in your town? My son and his wife are struggling: they're still waiting to have their propane (LNG) delivery since buying the house they're in. The temperature at night is getting pretty uncomfortable! I went for a walk yesterday without a jacket and found myself regretting it! Brrrr.
Perhaps it's for this reason that I find myself getting less patient, maybe even a bit grumpy as winter approaches. I understand why the birds and older folks head south this time of year! But I'm not satisfied with that! I want to become the type of person who can appreciate, and even enjoy the winter season!
This morning during our devotional time, Joanne prayed for me about this. Maybe you will join her, to also ask that I find myself taking pleasure in the colder months. There is something nostalgic about hunkering down with a blanket and a nice pair of thick socks. I want to get so I can enjoy hiking, skiing, and squinting into the winter sun!
One challenge for me has been the circulation in my fingers. I wonder if I have Raynaud's syndrome, a disease in which the fingers go white and struggle to circulate blood properly in the cold? In any case I pray that God will heal me! Maybe you would also join in prayer for that!
I just found a process online which was discovered in the 1980s which can reverse the impact of Reynaud's. I'm going to give it a try, and pray God does the rest!
