My Birthday!
Yesterday was a really nice birthday. I laid in bed a bit after opening my gifts from Joanne, and then she made Egg "Mc"Muffin sandwiches which we ate together. She bought be a whole pack of incense aroma therapy, and a tin of Presbyterian tobacco. The Beckwiths and mom and dad came over, and we had coffee together and chatted a while. Mom got me a scripture songs CD, and dad a knife. They also got me a car power charger and a bullet lighter. The Beckwiths got me some homemade beard balm. Karen Pothier came over with her kids, and then we went to see a movies: we all went to our own theatres to see the Hobbit, Annie, and for me, Unbroken -- which was a movie about a world war II hero who was captured by the Japanese. Quite intense, and beautifully Christian. Afterwards we went to Timmy's for coffee and donuts. Lucas and Sorieda came too.
At home, Steve and Michelle Laing came over to pick up their guinea pigs. They bought me a gift too-- a tin of tobacco!
Emily and Sandi Desjardin got me a harmonica and a pack of Beatles guitar pics.
Quite the hoard, eh? :)
Today I plan on taking it a little easy, though I do have a meeting in the afternoon with the board of the Fairfield-Gutzeit society. I would like to wrap up a few more features on their web site, and then maybe ask for another payment from them.
I preach tomorrow at the service--and on Sunday. I'm a tad nervous, but am hoping for the best. It's going to be a busy weekend for me.
