Back in 1987 or thereabouts my Bible College created a theme for the year called "In His Steps." The idea was for us to focus on our walk with Christ throughout the chapels and classes.
I thought it might be good to write a song for the theme. My song, also entitled "In His Steps," was popular with the school, and our recruitment touring group "Celebration" sang it as part of our repertoire in the many churches we visited over the year. My wife and I sang it at a recent coffee house, and afterwards an individual asked if it was released on Spotify that she might listen to it again. I told her that I would record it soon and here it is!
As I worked on it, I kept thinking of the recent trauma with the assassination of Charlie Kirk. His family is certainly going through a dark night now, and I'm certain they're leaning heavily on Jesus to be their Light.
I pray we are all as brave to proclaim the Gospel as Charlie was. I hope this song is an encouragement to you as you worship him in the midst of your own suffering and struggle.
