Lyrics

In you, O Lord, I take refuge;
Let me never be shamed.
In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;
Incline your ear to me and save me.
Be my rock of refuge, a strong tower, to save me,
For you're my rock and you're my fortress.

Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of wicked men,
From the grasp of the unjust and cruel.

For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust,
O Lord, since I was young.
From my birth I've leaned on you, yes, from my mother”s womb.
My praise is constantly of you.
I have been like a wonder to many,
But you are my strong, strong refuge.

My mouth's filled with your praise, with your glory all day long.
Do not cast me off in old age;

Do not forsake me when my strength is spent.
For all my enemies talk about me,
Waiting to kill me, to plot my demise
Saying, “God has abandoned him,
“Quickly, let's grab him,
“For no one will rescue him.”

O God, do not remain far away;
My God, hurry to help!
Let my accusers be ashamed, consume them;
Let those who seek to hurt me be disgraced.
But I'll hope continually, and praise you more and more.
My mouth will tell of your righteous acts,
Of your saving deeds more than I can count
I will praise your righteousness, yours alone.

O God, from my youth you have taught me,
I still proclaim your works, so to old age
Do not forsake me, until I proclaim
You to all the generations.
Your power and righteousness,
Reach the high heavens.

You have done great things, God, who is like you?
You've made me see many troubles and calamities
You'll revive me again;
From the depths of the earth
You will bring me up again.

You'll increase my honour, comfort me once again.
I'll also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness,
O my God; I will sing
Praise to you with the lyre,
Holy One of Israel.

My lips shout for joy when I sing praises to you;
My soul also, which you've rescued. All day long my tongue
Will talk of your righteous help,
Those who tried to harm me
Have been shamed, and disgraced.

O God, from my youth you have taught me,
I still proclaim your works, so to old age
Do not forsake me, until I proclaim
You to all the generations.
Your power and righteousness,
Reached the high heavens.
