Fatigue Starting To Catch Up with My Mountain Bike
I’m getting tired! It’s a good tired though. I’ve been riding my bike everywhere for the last week!
A friend came over last night and tuned it up, so I think this is a good time to take a break! No, really I’m just exhausted and I’ve heard that excersising every day isn’t as good as every other day. Maybe I should drive the car in today.
I love the rush of biking— the wind flying through my hair— almost keeping up with automobiles. It usually takes me 15 minutes in a car, and I’ve been able to get downtown on the bike in 25! That’s fairly fast. Yesterday I did it in 22 minutes, 16 seconds!
I’ll be happy when I can bike as fast as I can drive. I’m not sure that’s even possible.

No ploy intended
I had a lot of fun too - at East Side’s that is. (FYI: I had an EastSide Burger (hold the bun) with bacon and cheese and a salad.)
AS far as being willing to forgo my brilliant idea of biking to a restaraunt, it was completely sincere. I had already taken something out of the freezer for dinner, so I was prepared for Jason to be tired or not into going out. I have given up the “ploys” a long time ago. It is far more to my advantage to work together with Jason in descion making than to just try to get my way. Of course, he makes it easy by being the perfect husband. Sorry, ladies. I got him first.

On the East Side with East Side’s
I came home from work exhausted, ready to crash in front of mountains of mail— e-mail that is, when my wife said, “I thought we’d GO OUT for dinner!”
The first thing that popped into my head is what probably pops into many men’s minds: “That’s gonna cost money.” (emphasise each word)
“We can take the bikes,” she said, trying to win me. “We’ll ride to your favourite restaurant, East Side Mario’s.”
I thought I held my face like steel; I thought my emotions would stay concealed behind an iron jaw, but she said, “That’s OK honey, I can make something. I can see you’re tired.”
“What a sweetheart,” I thought, “or maybe it’s all a sneaky ploy. It’s hard to know with women sometimes.” (No offense to any females reading this).
So I decided to go, even insisted despite her feigned retractions. “Sometimes excercise can pick you up,” I said, and meant it.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had that much fun. Ya, so it cost $50 bucks— but I had a wonderful time. I ordered a steak sandwich with brown pop, we got sauteed mushrooms on the side, bowls and bowls of East Side’s famous garden salad… Seth got pizza, Lucas his usual buttered elbow noodles, and Joanne— I don’t know what Joanne got.
Thank God for my wonderful wife. I’m relaxed and happy now. Life is good. And I don’t have to do the dishes.
