Cool Site - Amazing Images

I discovered a site today— I’m thinking of hiring them to do some work for me. This site does amazing graphic design, and I’ve asked them to give me an estimate to redesign NotationMachine’s Skin.

Cool site, eh? I’ll keep you up to date.

Great Pipe Site

I found a neat pipe site tonight you should take a look at if you’re interested in pipes. It has a really good page on how to choose your first pipe, and how to know what type of pipe is right for you.
Here’s the link to their home page. It’s a great site.

Matrix 2 Coat — FOR ME?

Heh,
I’m a kid at heart, I admit it. I love the Matrix, wouldn’t it be neat to be in a Matrix game that was like, real!?! An Internet game full of other Matrix devotees. I even want to dress like Neo… I know, how immature. I found this site: get a coat like Neo’s. I sent this link to a dressmaker friend of mine who is willing to sew it if I can find the pattern. The melton wool alone would cost between $150-$250 dollars! Man! But I’m sure tempted. I could wear it this winter!
Boy, I’m crazy.

Mp3 Links Fixed

Well, I finally got around to fixing the broken links for my mp3 files. Sorry everyone, I was having a brain-blockage and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. I decided too to make it streaming so you don’t need to download the mp3’s to listen to them… at least not all at once. You can play ‘em live. winking
I really would appreciate feedback. Do you like the tunes I’ve written? What do you love, what do you hate… post your thoughts here or email me, jasonsilver’at’crookedbush.com
Thanks!

New Computer

I bought a new HP computer today! Pretty nice, with a DVD burner, 2.66 GHz Intel Petium 4 processor, 512 MB DDR SDRAM memory and 120 GB hard drive. It has 128 MB of video memory (GeForce4 MX440 graphics card), and a 48x CD ROM. Cool eh? I’m pretty pumped because my last computer was a P2 300 6 years ago (when it was the fastest and the best of course.)
I’m happy now! winking

Today I put up the pictures of the pond I helped to build a couple of weeks ago. The link is here: How To Make A Fish Pond.

Hi Tom,
Your IP Address was included in the reply, so I know it’s you! winking I’m just in the process of renaming and reorganising them, and then I’ll put them up.

Free MP3s to Download

Well, I finally got around to moving mp3.com material to this site… it’s not organised as nicely as MP3.com, but I didn’t ever really like it that way anyway.

So, check out some of my music if you want: free mp3s here.

I’m also thinking of a more appropriate way to navigate this site. When I moved all the Perl scripts to Intelliscript.net, this site kind of lost it’s purpose. I decided to make it a place to post my blogs, to think about life, to keep in touch with friends, and stuff like that. I’m thinking of making the navigation more like: Who Am I? : Christian | Husband | Father | Musician | Programmer | Pastor | Webmaster | Artist | Gardener | Writer | Friend

What do you think?

X2

I took Lucas and two of his friends to see X-Men 2 today. It was really good.
In fact, this is one show in which I would say the second is better than the first! Yes, bizarre I know, but I think it had more depth and interest, the characters were developed more, and I was drawn into the story right away. It was neat to see the background of where Wolverine comes from, and to see Magneto cooperating (mostly) with professor Xavier. Also, the special effects were AWESOME! The way Night Crawler would zap from place to place was just like the video games— no, better!
If I had any criticism it would only be that I don’t like shows that assume the highly unlikely theory of evolution is fact, but X-Men is based on that so what can I say, except no big deal, it’s still entertainment.
Great movie, go see it!

Matrix 2

I saw Matrix Reloaded today… what a movie! The guys at work took off a couple of hours at 12:30 and slapped down $5.75 to get transported somewhere in time to watch Neo battle computer programs. Coolio.
This one was sexier— especially the beginning, which was great, but also kind of precludes me showing this movie to my kids any time soon. Not that is was pornographic, but more than a kid should see. Too bad.
Some people have told me that it would be better than the first one, that the first one introduced the story, but the story starts to get told in two and three. I don’t know… it wasn’t better. It might have been as good, but not better. I can get a little critical at times, but it reeked of ratings boosters, like more gun scenes, more sex, more car chases. All this was cool, but maybe we could have done with one less fight scene…
But as I say this I remember that the first Matrix movie grew on me, until I couldn’t tear myself away— until I had to be IN the Matrix, to dress, to live the Matrix. So if I buy this one too, and watch it three hundred times I have no doubt it will quickly become one of my favourite movies.

I thought this was a cool article:
Forget sci-fi and guns - The Matrix is really about religion
That’s all folks,
~Jason

Major Yard Word

Wow, what a great day! Not only did I plow through a lot of email, but I actually got outside!

Thats right, I got out and did some MAJOR YARD WORK. I borrowed a truck from John Harvey, picked up a yard of top soil, then spread it all around the rocks under that big pine tree in my front yard. I fashioned a nice rock garden with all kinds of ground cover perennials, and spread out grass seed on it. I fixed the broken pipe (it burst last winter) for the hose and watered, I planted more perennials (I think I’m spelling that wrong!) in the big front bed, and cut the grass. I spread the remaining top soil around in the back yard, and that’s ready for grass seed now! This was a great day.

The embarrassing thing is I even washed down my driveway. I used to mock old guys who wash down their driveway, but now that I actually own my own driveway, it’s quite fullfilling. It’s like watching my computer defrag… all those little boxes lining up. I love watching the dirt and debris wash down to the curb.

Great day.

South with the Geese

So I flew south this weekend… flew in a figurative sense, since it was down Friday morning, back Monday night. Wow, am I tired now.

So why did I go? Two reasons really. The first was to bless the pants off my friends Tom and Janice. Tom invited me down to build a fish pond with him as a suprise for Janice. It was an intense back-hoe operation: digging, carrying, soaking, and laughing. The pond looks great, and as soon as he sends me some pics I’ll put them up here.

The other reason for going was almost as important… hmmm, now that I say that, maybe it was even more important. I went down to bless as many people at Meadowbrook Church as possible. What’s Meadowbrook? I helped Steve French and Doug Holliday plant this church back between 1994 and 1999. In 1999 certain people un-politely asked two of us to resign. All three of us left.

Many dreams over these last years have had something to do with that trauma. I struggled with anger, with confusion, with depression; plucked out of a home I had built for five years. I seemed to always find myself asking the question, “why” and wishing I could go back down there and straighten a few people out! winking

But I came to a good place where I was ready to go down and “free everybody up.” Any severed relationships that were a result of this unfortunate circumstance were fair game as far as I was concerned. My goal was to reach out to each of these people with love and forgiveness, without actually saying that. I just gave a lot of hugs. I told people, “Wow! you look great! and tried to show them how much I loved them and missed them.” winking

So my trip down to Jersey was terrific. Driving back was very hard (it’s an eight hour drive from here), and I almost fell asleep at the wheel once or twice. I am so happy for this experience. I am so glad to have been able to see old friends again. I hope to go back soon.

Trip South

So I had my Greencard taken away today because I had been living out of the US for more than 1 year. I always thought that I might move back to the states within the expiry time of the card, but it looks like that idea won’t happen— unless I get another greencard. That process is so long and difficult, that I don’t want to go through it again!
It also means I can’t tour with Johannes to the states without getting special permission, so I miss the gig coming up that was going to pay $500. That sucks.
